TOWIE star James ‘Arg’ Argent has faced his fair share of weight critics over the years, but despite losing 4st, he is still receiving abuse over his physique.
When girlfriend and co-star Lydia Bright, 25, shared a photo of the pair enjoying a plate of pie and mash on Wednesday afternoon, followers slammed Arg, claiming he’d gained weight.

Alongside her Instagram photo, Lydia wrote:
‘Fun day of filming with this one @real_arg in our favourite place @robinspienmash #Essex #EastLondon #Traditions #MyFaveMeal.’
Whilst the plate of pie, mash and liquor doesn’t exactly tingle our tastebuds, what shocked us the most were the comments left by fans.
One Instagram user wrote:
‘Arg gained the weight he worked so hard to loose,’ whilst another wrote: ‘Arg gained weight :-(.’
One follower even took things a bit too far by writing: ‘Who ate all the pies! You fat ba****d you fat ba****d @real_arg.’
Err, a little harsh?
We say, stop fat shaming Arg – he’s looking happy, healthy and seriously loved-up!
Back in April, Arg, 27, spoke exclusively to Now, revealing his amazing mansformation having dropped from 18 ½ stone in November last year to just under 15st.
Describing the change, James said: ‘I think I’m one of the only male TOWIE stars to lose weight and get in shape, so that makes me feel very proud!’
He added: ‘I never truly felt handsome or attractive. Now I look how I want to look. Dean martin’s my favourite singer and I think I look like a young Dean Martin or Robert De Niro.’
Arg also revealed that he’d been eating healthily, swapping crisps and chocolate for ‘lean cuts of meat, vegetables and healthy snacks.’
Speaking at Monday night’s TV Choice awards, Lydia admitted that Arg had enjoyed a few cheat meals as she was away trekking up Machu Picchu, but now he’s back on track.
We reckon Arg looks fab!
