Time for Rio to move on?
After the tragic death of his wife Rebecca in 2015, Rio Ferdinand can definitely be understood for not wanting to focus too hard on reigniting his love life.
However, new reports claim that the footballing ace might nearly be ready to take a step back into the dating world once more – as he’s said to be spending time with TOWIE star Kate Wright!

According to an insider, reality babe Kate is ‘smitten’ with 38-year-old Rio, who is now a single father-of-three: sons Lorenz and Tate, ages ten and nine respectively, and five-year-old daughter Tia.
However, it is claimed that Rio is hesitant to develop their romance into anything too serious as of yet, due to his focus on raising his children.
‘Rio and Kate have enjoyed spending time with each other with other friends. There’s a real connection there but Rio is in no rush to turn this into a serious relationship,’ a source revealed to The Sun.
‘His number one priority are his three kids and he will always put their welfare in front of anything else. But Kate is very smitten with him and therefore happy to wait and see what happens.’
Sounds like a sensible idea to us!
Rio lost wife Rebecca, after marrying in 2009, nearly two years ago after a short battle with breast cancer; she was 34 years old.

At the time, the former Manchester United player released a heartbreaking statement expressing his grief, reading: ‘She was a fantastic loving mother to our three beautiful children. She will be missed as a wife, sister, aunt, daughter and granddaughter. She will live on in our memory, as a guide and inspiration. Our grief, as a family, is total.’
Kate, 25, is moving on from a relationship of her own after her love affair with co-star Dan Edgar came to an end in 2016.
Though we don’t anticipate we’ll see Rio and family making an appearance on set in Brentwood any time soon, we’re always happy to hear about new romance. Good luck to them!
