All the TOWIE trivia you could ever desire

In October 2010, a group of hot young things from Brentwood, Essex appeared on our screens for the very first time. Before then, the world at large had never heard of a vajazzle; the world had no idea what ‘reem’ meant and James ‘Arg’ Argent had not yet been denied Gemma Collins candy.

We’ve had fights, tears and a whole lot of laughs since then, and now TOWIE has reached 200 episodes!

In celebration, we present to you 11 of the most random, amazing facts that you never knew you needed – thank us later…

1. There have been 25 TOWIE pets

We were introduced to one of the most memorable, Mr Darcy, way back in the 11th episode. Arg bought the micro pig for girlfriend Lydia Bright – but unfortunately, Mr Darcy turned out to be a little bit bigger than ‘micro’, and outgrew Lydia’s home.

So he was sent to live out the rest of his days on a farm. (A real farm – not the imaginary farm where all dead pets go to.)

2. There have been 21 couples

Mark Wright and Lauren GoodgerJoey Essex and Sam Faiers…some classic couplings that, though are now history, live on in our memories forever…

3. 61 dates have happened on screen, so far

Kirk Norcross, Tom Pearce, Mario Falcone, Lewis Bloor and two with Dan Edgar – go girl!

6. People have cried 288 times on TOWIE

Happy tears, angry tears, the lot – and it started very early on, with Lauren kicking off the crying trend in episode two. Attagirl.

7. Jess Wright is the biggest crier of them all

We’ve seen her shed some tears 31 times! Here she is having a weep at brother Mark’s engagement party:

Though not the most extreme, here’s a look back at Lockie‘s ‘back, sack and crack’ wax – and it does NOT look fun.
